We started a new message series in YouthQuake last week called Furious. This is the intro video that our worship/media director, Taylor Moser, put together. He took clips from Mike Parsons’ epic 84 ft. wave part in the Billabong Odyssey video to illustrate the furious nature of God. Psalm 42:7 says, “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.” Here’s the series description from the website.
Furiousness is the height of all-consuming passion…a fierce, wild, relentless emotion that pursues with reckless abandon. What better terms to describe an intense, powerful God? God is not a pushover. His furious nature for us is rooted in his deep, passionate love and sharpened by his relentless, unending grace. This is God’s plan of redemption for us: not a mushy love or mushy grace…but furious love & furious grace. In this 3-week series, we’re exploring God’s furious love & furious grace, learning that we can respond as a furious people after God’s heart. It’s a love that doesn’t stop. It’s a grace that is wild & untamed. Our God is a furious God. He’s gracefully fierce & furious for the ones he loves and will do whatever it takes to have our hearts.
